October 1, 1940 --- May 22, 2014

Carole was a very loving person and will be fondly remembered by the many people she touched.

Carole L. Etherington was born in Corwith, Iowa on October 1, 1940 to Armond and Eva (Lynn) Tabb, and graduated from Corwith High School in 1958. Carole was married to Jason Etherington in Algona in 1971. She worked at KLGA Radio in Algona for almost 30 years as a copywriter. Carole also worked as a daycare provider for Donna Mae Walker and the YMCA. She loved the children, and many young adults in the area still fondly remember "Grandma Carole" from those days.

Carole touched many lives with her wonderful smile, her hugs, and upbeat attitude. She attended Clown College in Ft. Dodge, becoming a registered clown by the name of "Clown Kitty Kitty Who?" Her creativity and caring attitude was felt through the many cards and notes she sent to people to help them through a rough patch in the road or to just brighten their day.

Carole was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Algona, serving as deacon, choir member, participating in Guild Circle and many other activities of the church. She was a former member of the Soroptimists Club in Algona. Most of all, Carole was a people person. No one was a stranger to her for very long. She could always find something good to say about anyone. In spite of her many physical problems, Carole always continued to have an upbeat, positive attitude right up to the end.

Carole moved into the Algona Manor Care Center in 2010 where she died on May 22, 2014 at the age of 73. She is survived by her husband Jason, daughters, Kristine Rampone of Loveland, CO; Kate Crow of Dallas, TX and son Jason Jr. and his wife Sheila of Charles City, Iowa. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, as well as many nieces and nephews. Carole was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Wilmer and many aunts and uncles.
