GOLDFIELD - Kristine (Wetterhus) Schipull, the daughter of Tom and Madli (Ovrehus) Wetterhus, was born November 13, 1927, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1945. Kris worked as a "Soda Jerk" at the Chan-Smith Drug Store and at the dental office of Dr. Johnson in Eagle Grove. On October 10, 1948, Kris was united in marriage with Donald Schipull at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. The couple made their home on a farm north of Goldfield and raised three children. Kris volunteered as a chaperone for the girl's high school basketball team for many years. After Don's death on October 11, 1994, Kris moved into Goldfield. She continued to winter in Arizona with her sisters. Kris was a very active volunteer and member of the Goldfield United Methodist Church serving on numerous committees. She was also active with the Legion Auxiliary and Oakridge. Kris enjoyed spending time with her friends - always making time to play cards and loved being around family, especially her grandchildren!

Kris passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City, at the age of 86 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don and son, David Schipull in 2009. Survivors include her daughter, Koleen Schipull of Gilbert, AZ; son, Dean Schipull (Jayne) of Goldfield; three grandchildren, Andrew Schipull, Stacy Snow (Jason) and Cassie Schipull; four great-grandchildren, Tristan and Evan Schipull and Ceci and Emmaline Snow and sisters, Elizabeth Azinger (Roy) of Mesa, AZ and Thelma Lester (Kenny) of New Hampton.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 23, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the Goldfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Christina Perkins officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
