PERCY, IL -- Mary A. Meyer, 101, of Percy, passed away at 6:24 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, in Pinckneyville Health Care in Pinckneyville, Illinois. Mary was born March 28, 1913, in Kanawha, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Minnie Brand Jackson. She married William Arthur Meyer in 1930 in Algona, Iowa. He preceded her in death Jan. 23, 1997. Mary was retired from American Device, was a farmer and a homemaker. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Percy. Mary is survived by one son, Wayne M. (Norma) Meyer of Percy; three daughters, Ethel Pierson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Judy E. James of Percy and Marilyn S. Meyer of Pinckneyville; four grandchildren, Patricia Hagene, Marsha Byrd, Brenda Gerlach and Donna Owen; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and six sisters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in Wilson's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marvin "Bud" Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Steeleville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
