CLINTON, Iowa — Mildred “Millie” A. Norris, 91, of Clinton, went home to be with The Lord, Monday, April 21, 2014 from Delmar Gardens of O’Fallon, Missouri. Visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., preceded by an hour-long visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Evangelical Free Church, Clinton.
Mildred (Christensen) Norris, wife of Dr. Robert B. Norris, was born on June 16, 1922 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Chris and Atta (Lewis) Christensen. Millie was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Evangelical Free Church. She was a member of the PEO Chapter KY, the Lyceum Book Club, Tri-S, and Bridge Club. She volunteered at the former Jane Lamb Agatha Auxiliary, and with Meals On Wheels. Her favorite place on earth was Breidablik, on the North Shore of Lake Superior in Lutsen, Minnesota. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family.
Survivors include daughter, Christine (James) Hudson of O’Fallon, Missouri; son, Dr. James R. Norris of Saint Paul, Minnesota; grandchildren, Amy (Michael) Lauer, Jason (Heather) Hudson, Lisa Thomas, and Michael Longhi; great grandchildren, Vonner Panek, Isaak Hudson, Tessa Hudson, Cooper Thomas, and Camden Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Atta Christensen; her husband, Dr. Robert B. Norris; her daughter, Jann (Michael) Longhi; and her brothers, Lewis, Harvey, Vern, Virgil, and Howard Christensen. Memorials may be made in Millie’s memory to: the Immune Deficiency Foundation or to the American Diabetes Association.
