Donald L. Boucher, 79, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away April 17, 2014, in the family home. Donald was born September 30, 1934, in Belmond, Iowa to Orville and Ann Boucher. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956, he married Sondra Sue Barnett, his wife of 56 years. They raised three children while living in St. Joseph. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He loved his work as a conductor with Burlington Northern Railroad for 38 years. After retiring, Don and Sondra enjoyed traveling, including a trip to California where he was the winner of the Showcase Showdown the Price is Right. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Beverly. Don is survived by his wife, Sondra; daughter, Deborah Messa (Rick); daughter, Mardell Barber (Albert); and son, Douglas Boucher (Sarah); eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; sister, June Elrick; and brother, Kay Boucher. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hands of Hope Hospice or the St. Joseph Animal Shelter. There will be no open service but the family will welcome visitors from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the family home, located at 3548 Penn Street, St. Joseph.
