E. A. Loobey Dies Monday at Age 81

E. A. Loobey, 81, long time resident of Goldfield, passed his home Monday evening. Loobey had been in failing health the past year and had been confined to his home the past six weeks. He was manager of the Goldfield Produce for 20 years.

Edward Arthur Loobey was born April 15, 1870, at Luni, and departed this life at his home in Goldfield May 14, 1951, thus reaching the age of 81 years, 1 month. On May 17, 1897, he was united in marriage to Lena Trowbridge in Clarion. To this union nine children were born, eight of whom survice him. One son, Otis preceded him in death in 1926. Besides his wife. Lena, he is survived by four daughters, Olive, Mrs. Clara Miller, Ada, Minn., Neva, Mrs. I. G. Iverson, Minneapolis, Minn., Madge, Mrs. Christensen, Woden; Shirley, Mrs. Roy Davis, Columbia, S. C; four sons, Arthur, Olympia, Wash., Leo, St. Paul. Minn.. Donald. Long Beach. Calif., Maurice, U. S. merchant marine; also 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Baptist church in Goldfield, conducted by Rev. M. L. Christensen, Saturday and interment was in Luni cemetery. Out of town people attending funeral services were: Mrs. Orpha Kerr, Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Milton Pringle, Lakota, daughter and granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Prince, Algona, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred O'Keefe, Lakota, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Loobey, Philp, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Denver Reese, Olivia, Minn., Mrs. Carrie Ross, Frank J. Ross, Mrs. Glenn Reed, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Sill, Fairmont, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Clancy, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Clancy, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Clancy, Mrs. Leland Swan, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Brayton, and Mrs. Francis Hefley, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hefley, Hardy; Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Packard, Renwick; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Loobey and children, Mary, Jane and Donald, St. Paul, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Loobey, Long Beach, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Iverson, Minneapolis, Minn., and son, Gene Iverson of Dayton, O., Mrs. Madge Christensen and sons, Cameron and Paul of Woden, Mrs. Roy Davis and sons, Stephen and Mitchael, Columbia, S. C.
