Services Held for Mrs. Lou Brannon
Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 29 at Dows for Mrs. Lou Brannon, who passed away on October 27th at the Clarion hospital. Rev. Merlin Ackerson of the Rowan Methodist church officiated at the services and music was provided by Mrs. Robert O. Willlts. Pallbearers were Harley Jacobsen, Darrell Baines, Maynard Mills, Allen Knuths, Ralph Coombs, and John Unger. Interment was in the Falrvlew Cemetery.Louisa Ingraham, the daughter of Joseph G. and Sarah Ingraham, was born March 4, 1878 south of Rowan, Iowa. She passed away on October 27, 1964 at the hospital in Clarion at the age of 86. She attended school in and around the Rowan community. She joined the Rowan Methodist church in October of 1895. She was married on February 1, 1899 at Clarion to Mr. James Brannon. Mr. and Mrs. Brannon lived on farms near Rowan and Dows. Born to this union were three daughters: Clare (Mrs. Earl Jones of Rowan). Thelma, (Mrs. Lewis Benson of Clarion), and Deone (Mrs. Van Noy of Dows), and one son, Merle also of Dows. Preceding Mrs. Brannon in death were her parents and her husband who passed away in 1927. Mrs. Brannon is survived by her four children, 2 sisters, Mrs. Rose Cowley of Nashua and Mrs. Lydia Dubbs of Carlyle, Pennsylvania, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
