RITES HELD FOR DONALD McGOWAN, 59

Donald McGowan, 59, of LeRoy, Minnesota, passed away November 21, 1970, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, following a brief illness. Mr. McGowan was born on March 30, 1911 at Goldfield, Iowa. In 1936 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Richardson of Renwick. To this union were born 2 daughters, Karen and Kay. The family farmed near Renwick until 1959 when they moved to a farm in the LeRoy Community. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of Viona Lodge 538 AF and AM and a member of the Board of the LeRoy Farmer's Co-operative Grain and Stock Company.

Mr. McGowan is survived by his wife, Dorothy, two daughters, Karen, Mrs. Harold Haver of Minneapolis, Minn.; Kay, Mrs. Robert Jacobson of Des Moines; four brothers, Will of Winter Haven, Florida, Robert, Fort Dodge, James, Renwick and Arlo of Livermore; four sisters, Gladys, Mrs. Guy Peterson, Dows, Mrs. Jessie Helmke, Humboldt, Eathyle, Mrs. Braden Stoakes and Marian, Mrs. Rudy Amosson, both of Goldfield; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 23, 1970 at 11:00 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy, Minn., with Rev. Hal Meineke officiating. Masonic graveside rites were held at the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield. Arrangements were with the Martz-Hutchins Funeral Home in LeRoy.
