Marjorie Anders Echelberger, 95, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013, at the Israel Family Hospice House, Ames, Iowa. A Memorial Service for Marjorie Anders Echelberger will be 6:00 pm Thursday, December 19, 2013, at the Linn’s Funeral Chapel, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Calkins Nature Area c/o Ellsworth College Foundation, 1100 College Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126, or to the Israel Family Hospice House, 400 South Dakota Avenue, Ames, Iowa 50014.The Linn’s Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Marjorie Jean Evans was born August 19, 1918, at her parents home in Franklin County, Iowa, the daughter of Marion and Ruby [Moore] Evans. She graduated Popejoy High School with the class of 1936. On Thanksgiving day 1942 Marjorie was united in marriage to Ernest Anders. He passed away in 1990. On September 20, 1997 she was united in marriage to Gary Lee Echelberger. Marjorie was a homemaker, a painter of pictures and barns, a member of The Women of the Moose Lodge # 1108, Iowa Falls, and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Iowa Falls.

Marjorie Echelberger is survived by her husband: Gary Echelberger of Iowa Falls; her children: Robert [Debbie] Anders of Ames, Iowa, Merle [Marcy] Anders of Casscoe, Arkansas, Russell [Eleanor] Anders of Wiliams, Iowa, Rosemary Knebel of Longmont, Colorado; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and three brothers: Myron Evans of Alden, Iowa, Glen Evans of Alden, Iowa, Burl Evans of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; and a very close friend of 44 years: Judy Clock of Alden, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ruby and Marion Evans; her first husband: Ernest Anders; two brothers: Merle in infancy, Robert Evans; and a sister: Mable Gregg.
