Addie Marie Tripp was born on December 22, 1911 in Grant Township to Fred and Gertrude (Knipfel) Burkley. On March 10, 1937, Addie was united in marriage to Harold Frederick Tripp. She was a member of the Morgan United Methodist Church. Addie was a hard worker; had a huge vegetable and flower garden on the farm. She was known for being a good cook and was most known by her family for her homemade rolls, peach cream pie, and kringla. She would always have something ready for lunch when company stopped. She also had a good sense of humor. She was very contented and took life in stride. Addie is survived by her daughter Marilyn (George) Disney of Clarion, IA; two sons Marlyn (Karen) Tripp of Hampton, IA and Gordon (Carol) Tripp from Indianola, IA; a daughter-in-law Norma Tripp of Coulter, IA; her sister Evelyn Stratmann of Hampton, IA; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Christine Tripp. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, her sons Darwin and Arlin Tripp and her brothers Carl and Luvern Burkley.
