Cheryl Mae Bard was born on January 23, 1962, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Janet (Cran) Bard. She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating with the "Class of 1980" and was the first-ever 5 time letter winner on the high school softball team. Cheryl worked at Electrolux for 23 years. Cheryl was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her passion was cooking and preparing the holiday meals for her family.

Cheryl passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014, at the age of 52 years. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father, Harold Bard. Survivors include her mother, Janet Bard of Eagle Grove; siblings: Craig Bard and wife Diane of Eagle Grove, Randy Bard of Eagle Grove, Diane Mrazek and husband Tony of Granger and Brian Bard and wife Susie of Los Angeles, CA; seven nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and nephews.
