Helen Munson, 82, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday, April 13, 2003 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul G. Helmer officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge. Helen is survived by her husband, Amos Munson; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie Grant; brother and two sisters.

Helen Dorothy Grant was born November 4, 1920 in Renwick, Iowa. She attended country school near Renwick and later graduated from Drake University with a degree in Elementary Education. In January of 1940, Helen married Amos Munson. Helen has taught 3rd grade in Fort Dodge at Pleasant Valley Elementary School and Arey Elementary School. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and various groups with in the church.
