Mary Zielske, age 74, of Watertown, South Dakota, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. on November 14, 2009 at the Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown, with Pastor Joel Higgins officiating. Dorothy Brugman was the organist and Tim Ries was the soloist. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Visitation was held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wight Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers were Patrick Kennedy, Kevin Kennedy, Todd Kramer, Eric Kramer, Scott McNamar and Marc Harkin.

Mary Ann Zielske, the daughter of George and Harriet I. (Scorey) Loomer, was born on November 1, 1935 in LaPorte City, Iowa. She graduated from Swea City High School in 1954. She married Arden Zielske on August 21, 1955 in Swea City, Iowa. The couple lived in various towns [including Clarion, Wright County] throughout Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota before retiring to Branson, Missouri. In 2007, they moved back to Watertown, South Dakota to be closer to their family. Mary loved being with her children and grandchildren as they grew up. She enjoyed her Rock Island Railroad collection, American Fostoria glassware, sewing, cooking and baking, and was a sports fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; four half brothers; and three half sisters. Mary is survived by her husband, Arden; her children, Nannette (Peter) Nolte of Somerset, WI, Pamela Zielske of Plymouth, MN and Duey (Regena) Zielske of Watertown, SD; her sisters, Delores Kennedy of Mankato, MN, Caroline (Al) McNamar of Waverly, IA and Gwen (Gerald) Kramer of Shell Rock, IA; her brothers, Don (Pat) Loomer of Somers, IA and George (Shelia) Loomer Jr. of Houston, TX; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
