Arden Zielske, age 78, of Watertown, passed away February 27, 2014 in Watertown, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2014 at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Reverend Joel Higgins officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 2-5:00 p.m. at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mitch Zielske, Mark Zielske, Kevin Kennedy, Mike Kennedy, James Bruns and Scott McNamar.

Arden Duane Zielske, the son of Alfred and Lois (Mayne) Zielske, was born on April 16, 1935 in Grant Township, Kossuth County, Iowa. He grew up and went to high school in Swea City, Iowa. He also attended North Iowa Area Community College. He married Mary Ann Loomer on August 21, 1955 in Swea City. The couple lived in communities of Swea City, Joice and Clarion, Iowa; Darwin and Trimont, Minnesota; and Lake Norden, SD, while Arden worked at various grain elevators and Cattail Crossing Golf Course. They retired to Branson, Missouri and then in 2007 the couple moved to Watertown to be closer to family. He enjoyed fishing with his family along with collecting old wooden lures. His favorite past times were attending garage sales and auctions.

Arden is survived by his children, Nan (Pete) Nolte of New Richmond, WI, Duey (Regena) Zielske of Watertown, SD and Pam (fiancé Mark Stavrum) Zielske of Plymouth, MN; his brother, Dean (Dorothy) Zielske of Swea City, IA; his five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Mary.
