Irene Basham, of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, formerly of Ankeny, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. A memorial service for friends and family will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Ankeny First United Methodist Church in Ankeny. She was a former teacher at the Clarion Elementary School and her husband was a guidance counselor. They were members of the First Methodist Church, Clarion. Irene was born on August 16, 1918. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Basham; and a loving mother of Richard, Nancy, Ann and Robert. Irene was also the grandmother of eight and a great-grandmother of thirteen.
