April 7, 1841 --- August 21, 1913

Mrs. J. O. Prehm's mother, Mrs. Mary Kirkeberg, died last week Thursday after an illness of several months. Mrs. Kirkeburg was 72 years of age and lived a useful life. She was born in Norway, was married there and came to this locality some 40 years ago and hence was a pioneer settler. Seven children, four boys and three girls were born to her. [sic]. Burial was at Thor, sermon by Rev. Jergenson of Bode, at which place she lived several years with her son Ed. She was a conscientious Christian woman.

Mrs. Mary Kirkeberg died at the home of Mrs. Midland, in Eagle Grove, Aug. 21st and funeral services were held in Thor Friday afternoon.
