April 3, 1978 --- December 27, 2013

Carl Austin, 35, of Fort Dodge passed away on Friday December 27, 2013 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge. Carl was born in California on April 3, 1978 to Carl Sr. and Dedra Austin. He grew up in California and then Eagle Grove, IA. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School and then went on to attend the Iowa Central Welding Program. He was united in marriage to Shannon Clapper on August 3rd, 2010. Carl was always on the go and loved doing anything and everything that he could. He most recently worked as a welder for CJ Bio America. He loved being on the move, being outdoors and taking on adventure. He loved being a humanitarian and always wanted to help others. He was also very proud of helping plant trees in different parks throughout Iowa. He had more hobbies than you could think of and he could never sit still. Carl is survived by his wife Shannon; children Makyla, Hunter, Illyssa, Angelyn and Halle; his mother Dedra Pickering and his brothers Kevin, Arthur, Floyd, Justin, Jason, and Brandon. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Sr.
