Kermit R. Doolittle, 100, a longtime Webster City businessman, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center at Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ, with Pastor Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery, north of Webster City. Visitation will be at the church one hour before the service on Thursday.

Kermit Reginial Doolittle, son of Ed and Rhoda McGuire Doolittle, was born January 3, 1912 at his home in rural Webster City. He received his education in the Webster City school system. On June 6, 1937, he married Marian Elaine Rinehimer at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. He was the founder/president of Doolittle Oil Company and retired in 1998. Mr. Doolittle is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jon and Sue Doolittle of Webster City; Chip and Kris Doolittle of Rockwell City; daughter and son-in-law; Ann and Robert Arquilla of Glen Ellyn, IL; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Merlin Doolittle of Webster City; Warren and Jane Doolittle of Haymarket, VA; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wava Crosby; brothers, Milton and Darle Doolittle. Kermit was a member of the Church of Christ, a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School superintendent and a church Elder; he was a CEM board member; he was a board member of the Minnesota Bible College; was a former president of the Webster City Chamber of Commerce and a former Webster City school board president; a member of the Noon Kiwanis and a former Iowa-Nebraska Kiwanis district governor. He was a former Explorer Scout Leader and past president of the Petroleum Marketing Association.
