CLARION, IOWA/McALLEN, TEXAS - Vernon Donald Uehling, 81, died Friday, December 27, 2013, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in Oakland, Nebraska, Mr. Uehling had lived in Clarion, Iowa most of his life. He is preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Young; and a brother, Clark Uehling. Vernon is survived by his wife, Jeanette C. Uehling, of Clarion, Iowa; three children, Sandra (Craig) McConaughy, of McAllen, James (Cynthia Tjabring) Uehling, of Clarion, Iowa, Particia Uehling, of McAllen; three siblings, Dale Uehling, of Ottumwa, Iowa, Elizabeth Benjamin, of Altoona, Iowa, and Verna Lee Pianca, of Hillsborough, California. Cremation will take place Monday, December 30, 2013, at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
