Mary Evelyn [Carlson] Schipper
June 9, 1924 ---December 10, 2013

Mary Schipper, 89, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Tuesday December 10, 2013 at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Mary Schipper will be 11:00 am Monday, December 16, 2013 at Linn’s Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Oakhill Cemetery, Popejoy, Iowa. The Linn’s Funeral Home, Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mary Evelyn Carlson, daughter of Henry and Gertrude [LeAir] Carlson was born June 9, 1924 in the town of Pershing in Marion County, Iowa. She was the oldest of five children. She attended school in Alexander, Iowa. On September 27, 1943 she married William Johannes Schipper in Albert Lea, Minnesota. They became parents of three children, LaVerne, Janice and Larry. They lived on a farm by Dows, Iowa, until they moved into Iowa Falls in 1960-61. Besides being a housewife and mother to her children, she also worked at Agri-Pro Seed Corn and retired in 1994. She was a member of the Morgan Methodist Church in Dows, Iowa.

Mary is survived by her children: LaVern Johannes [Barbara] Schipper, Ankeny, Iowa; Janice [Bob] Mestdagh, Ackley, Iowa and Larry John Schipper of Iowa Falls, Iowa, two brothers, William H. Carlson, Geneva, Iowa and Jerry [Doris] Siverly of Burlington, Iowa. Mary is also survived by: twelve Grandchildren: John [Danielle] Schipper, Patrick Schipper, Michael Schipper, Tracy Schipper, Christopher [Teri] Schipper, Lisa [Greg] Pickering, Kevin Brighton, Marc [Courtney] Pena, Scott Brighton, Robbie Mestdagh, Johnny Schipper, and Megan [Levi] Card, with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Henry Carlson; her husband, William in 1997; and two sisters: Della Carlson and Lois Nebel.
