Virginia Ahrens, 75, resident of Taos since 1983 died Dec. 30, 1993, She was an avid art collector. Survived by husband, John B. Ahrens; children, Terry MacDowell of Farmington, Nick MacDowell of Las Vegas. NV, Jeffrey Scott Ahrens of Garden City, KS & John David Ahrens of Dallas, TX; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister Dorothy Peterson of Eagle Grove, IA. Service held Sat Jan. 1 at Rivera Chapel RIVERA-HANLON FUNERAL HOME, INC.

[Virginia Merical was born December 3, 1918, the daughter of Leon Paul Merical and Jessie (Carsten) Merical in Iowa. She was the stepdaughter of Thomas D. Burgess of Eagle Grove. She was married September 4, 1937 in Weber County, Utah to Lon William MacDowell, Jr. He died May 26, 1957. They lived in Eagle Grove, Wright County, Iowa.]
