Marjorie Johnson Oldson passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the age of 92. Marjorie was born to Selmer and Elise (Moen) Johnson on July 31, 1921 in Ellsworth, Iowa. The family moved to Eagle Grove when Marjorie was 5 years old. Marjorie graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1939 and from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in 1943. She nursed professionally at Iowa Methodist and for Dr. Elmer Smith in Eagle Grove in the following years.

Marjorie married her high school sweetheart Charles Oldson in 1943. Following WWII they settled in Eagle Grove where they owned Oldson Plumbing and Heating. Marge and Chuck raised three children-Martha, Robert and Joanne (Jo). Marge was active in the United Church of Christ and many civic organizations. She spent her later years in the Rotary Ann Retirement community and enjoyed her friends, family, books and word games.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, her parents, her sister Violet Hudgens and two infant sisters. She is survived by her daughter Martha Willits, her son Robert (Kris) Oldson and her daughter Jo Oldson (Brice Oakley). Also surviving are her grandchildren Anne Willits Whatley, Angela Oldson, Ben Oldson, Emily Willits, Danielle Oldson, Lauren Oldson, Joe Oldson and four great-grandchildren-Allison and Nicholas Whatley and Charles and Owen Willits Sieverding.

The family held a private burial service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove and a Celebration of Life gathering at Rotary Ann Retirement Home on Saturday, November 16th. Memorials may be directed to Rotary Ann Homes.
