Nellie Stafford, 89, formerly from Eagle Grove, passed away Nov. 14, 2013, preceded in death by husband Elgin Stafford. Survived by Bill and Sandy Milikin [sic. Milliken] & family of Spokane, Wash.; Dennis & Marilyn Stafford and family of Arlington, Texas; sister-in-law Margaret Madson, of Eagle Grove; brother Richard and Ardys Madson, of Fort Collins, Colo.; Phyllis Hill, of Fort Dodge, Iowa; many nieces and nephews.

Nellie “Nell” Stafford, age 89, was born November 8, 1924 in Lu Verne, Iowa to Hans and Nellie (Wambsal) Madson. Nell was one of seven children, having two brothers and four sisters. She married Elgin Stafford on December 23, 1941. They had two children, Sandra and Dennis; as well as nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Nell worked for the public schools as a kitchen helper for over 20 years. She loved her family very much, and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Thursday, November 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 North Pines Road, Spokane Valley, Washington 99206. A Memorial Service will follow on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the Drawing Room at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home.
