Funeral services for Mrs. Oren (Mona) Hanson 74, of Belmond, who passed away Friday evening at the Belmond Community Hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the United Methodist church in Belmond. The Rev. Dick Watkins will officiate. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery with William-Andrew Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Born February 20, 1898, she was the daughter of William and Anna Jenison. She was raised and educated in the Belmond area. After completing her education she taught in rural schools in the area. On September 25, 1919, she was united in marriage to Oren Hanson in Belmond and together the couple farmed in Belmond Township until 1940 when they moved into Belmond. Mr Hanson passed away on August 20, 1972. Mrs. Hanson was a member of the United Methodist church in Belmond and the Women's Circle of the Church.

Survivors include 1 daughter: Mrs. Dale (Nadine) Walrod of Ankeny; 1 son Roger of Mason City; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; Mrs, Chester (Faye) Oberg of Loves Park, Illinois, and Mrs Al (Madge) Mehew of Rockford, Illinois; 1 brother Cyril Jenison of Grandy, Minnesota, and a large number of nieces and nephews and host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and 1 great grandchild.
