Terry Lynn Hansen, 57, of Royal, passed away Oct. 14, 2013 at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. Funeral services will be 10:30 Friday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal with the Rev. Jo Watkins officiating. Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the church. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of arrangements.
Terry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Becky (Vinsand) Hansen of Royal; daughters, Katie (Brady Ginger) Hansen of Hartley, and Amanda (Cody) Greenfield of Spencer; grandson, Damion; brother, Gary (Marilyn) Hansen of Wilmore, Ky.; sisters, Donna Hussey of Storm Lake and Connie (Jim) Goeken of Gentry, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Shirley Vinsand, LeAnn Vinsand, and Rhonda Vinsand all of Humboldt; and brother-in-law, Gary (Tammy) Vinsand of Gilmore City. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, Ronnie and Randy Vinsand, and Richard Hussey.
Terry Lynn Hansen, the son of Darwon and Jean (Shull) Hansen, was born Jan. 28, 1956 at Clarion, Iowa. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1974 and soon moved to Storm Lake. Terry went to work for John Deere at Peterson, Iowa and it was while in Peterson he met Becky Vinsand. The couple were united in marriage on Aug. 13, 1983 at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt and made their home at Royal, Iowa. Terry worked his whole life in the implement business for Massey Ferguson, Maurer Manufacturing, and John Deere.
Terry was a member of the United Methodist Church at Royal. At his home he operated Terry's Putt Putt Painting and took great pride in his many tractor restorations and Damion loved to go for rides with "Papa" on his creations. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time with his friends, and his involvement at the Clay County Fair. In lieu of flowers, the Terry Hansen Memorial Fund has been established at the Home State Bank in Royal.
