Russell D. Shelton was born November 15, 1930 in Highview, Iowa. He died August 12, 2001 in Olympia, Wash. He served in the US Navy for four years. He worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Company for 36 years. After retiring, Russell and his wife moved to Olympia, Wash. in 1992. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Sons of Italy. He enjoyed working in the garden and traveling in the U.S and abroad. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ida, sons, Chris, Jim, daughter Carolyn, 8 grandchildren, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In honor of the deceased's wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Lung Association in memory of Russell D. Shelton.
