September 5, 1909 --- December 26, 1998

Anthony "Tony" Blue, 89, a longtime Webster City and Kamrar area farmer, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Southfield Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Foster Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Anthony Henry Blue, the son of Henry and Minnie (Schoneman) Blue, was born Sept. 5, 1909, at Thomasboro, Ill.. He moved, with his parents, to a farm northeast of Webster City at the age of 3. He attended Mud Hollow rural school and Webster City High School. On March 1, 1936, he married Jennie Koop at Kamrar. The couple farmed southeast of Webster City. For 10 years, they farmed east of Woolstock, then northeast of Kamrar until his retirement in 1971. The couple moved to Kamrar in 1971. He had resided at Southfield Care Center since August of this year.

Mr. Blue is survived by: his wife, Jennie; sons and daughters-in-law, Veryl and Linda Blue, Gary and Alice Blue, all of Webster City, Wayne and Barbara Blue of Kamrar; daughter and son-in-law, Ilene and Joe Verbrugge of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister-in-law Velma Blue of Webster City; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; one sister, Leona Gerber; brother Arthur Blue, and another brother in infancy. Mr. Blue was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, past president of the Kamrar Senior Citizens and Webster City Senior Citizen Club.
