Nancy Elaine Kirchner, 79, of Fort Dodge, passed away, Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Dodge with Rev. Austin Hill officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Angela (Terry) Frerkes of Manson, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert.

Nancy Elaine Lynn, the daughter of Otis Reid and Dorothy (Pingel) Lynn, was born July 14, 1934 in Fort Dodge, Iowa and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1952. On December 14, 1960, Nancy married Robert Kirchner at the United Methodist Church in Vincent.

After their marriage the couple made their home on a farm near Rolfe, and later moved to Vincent. The couple later moved to Fort Dodge where Nancy has lived for the past 55 years. In 2011, her husband Robert passed away. Nancy worked at Friendship Haven in the dietary department and also worked at Kirkberg Jewelers for several years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Dodge and also was a member of the Ruth Circle and the Thursday Morning Fellowship.
