Former LaClede [Illinois] Man Died Tuesday in Iowa

William A. Fisher, 72, resident of this community for several years, died Tuesday night of last week at his home in Renwick, Iowa. His death was apparently caused from carbon monoxide gas coming from a hard coal stove in his home. Mr. Fisher and his wife were found in an unconscious condition about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. They were in bed and had evidently been there since Monday night. Mrs. Fisher was in critical condition. Her physician stated that in another 15 minutes she would have been found dead. The deceased, William A. Fisher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Fisher, was born near LaClede on Oct. 11, 1868. Jan. 20, 1895, he was married to Miss Nancy Hamilton of LaClede and to them two children were born. Jess of Renwick and a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Fisher Morehead of Sioux City, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher moved from this county to Renwick in 1915. Mr. Fisher died on his 47th wedding anniversary. He was a drayman in Renwick for many years. Surviving are his wife and two children, two brothers, four half-brothers and a half sister. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Baptist church there conducted by Rev. E. F. Thompson.
