George H Groen, son of Henry and Henrietta Groen was born at Belmond, March 17, 1897 and died at the hospital in Nampa, Idaho Nov 18, 1945 at the age of 48. He was united in marriage to Augusta Hammerick at Belmond on Mary 5, 1917. To this union were born seven children Lois Morrison, Irma Brunmeier, Phyllis Groen all of Caldwell, Idaho. Sons; Kenneth of Hollister, California, Wayne in the Navy, LuVerne just home from the Army; and a son who died in infancy (Lester Conrad). He and his family moved to Idaho in 1930. For the past six years he has been employed by the Co-op Oil Company in Caldwell, Idaho. He is a member of the Baptist church of Roswell, Idaho. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Besides his mother, wife and children he is survived by seven sisters; Mrs Emil Traeger of Belmond, Mrs. Reka Schulte of Alexander, Mrs. John Ehlo of Adams, Minn., Mrs. Louis Freeman of Chicago, Mrs. Harold Neilsen of Caldwell, Idaho, Mrs. Bernard Moddy of Austin, Minn., Mrs. Joe Proulx of Newark, N.J. and one brother John H. Groen of Patterson, N. J. His father and a brother preceded him in death. He is also survived by three grandchildren and many other relatives. A memorial service was held at Caldwell on Nov 20.
