Funeral services for Esther C. Jaqua, 83, Humboldt, were held Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt with burial in Union Cemetery. She died Thursday evening, Nov. 27, at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. The Lindhart Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements, with Pastor Paul Otto and Pastor Robert Molldrem of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Humboldt officiating. Casketbearers were Clark Lane, Charles Joiner, John Eppley, Merlin Fischer, Richard Gentry, and Larry Gentry. Survivors include her husband, Franklin; two sons, John Jaqua of Humboldt and Richard Jaqua of Canton, SD; four grandchildren; and one sister, Alice Synhorst of Sarasota, FL.

Esther Rossing, daughter of S. O. and Anna G. (Sheldon) Rossing, was born June 23, 1903, at Rutland. She graduated from Humboldt High School and attended the Martha Washington Seminary at Washington. D.C. and the Bush Conservatory of Music at Chicago, IL. On Oct. 4, 1931 she married Franklin Jaqua at Sioux City and the couple made their home in Humboldt, where she taught piano for over 50 years. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.
