Funeral Services For Will Blesie Were Held Wednesday

Funeral services for William Blesie were held Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1958 at 2:00 p.m. in the Renwick Methodist church with the Rev. Roy. A. Biesemeyer officiating. Burial was in Vernon cemetery, Renwick. Dorothy McGowan was the soloist and Judy Henriksen accompanied her by organ. Casket bearers were Howard McCurry, Steve Palmer, Fritz Britt, Carl Flemming, Henry Kepper and Moine Yanney. Arrangements were made by Beenens Funeral Service of Renwick.

William W. Blesie was born on July 17, 1887 on a farm one mile north of Renwick, the son of Gabriel and Anna Freitag Blesie. he spent his entire life in the vicinity of Renwick with the exception of a few years as a boy in Wisconsin. He attended the local public school. On reaching maturity he and his brother, Edward established a dray line. In 1923 he started as a salesman for W. T. Rawleigh Co. He served in this capacity for 32 years, retiring in March 1955. He was united in marriage to Inda Packard on November 5, 1913 and to this union five children were born. He was a member of the Methodist church and for a number of years was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge. He passed away at the Belmond Hospital on August 11, 1958 at the age of 71 years and 24 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Donald of Des Moines; Dale of Red Oak; three daughters, Mrs. Eldred Prang of Fort Dodge; Delores, Mrs. Michael J. Orlando of Tokyo, Japan; Lorraine, Mrs. Marion Axtell of Waterloo; four grandsons and four granddaughters; two brothers, Jacob of St. Paul, Minn; Rudolph, of Renwick; one sister, Mae Wilson of Wichita Falls, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
