November 14, 1951 --- March 29, 1987

Calvin Willard Dencklau, 35, Death Valley, California, former Vincent resident, died Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada. The body was cremated. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the memorial chapel of the Bruce Funeral Home with the Rev. G. L. Milbrath, pastor of the Good Shepherd Lutheran church, officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. [Colfax Township Cemetery, Webster County, Iowa]

Survivors include his mother, Roberta Dencklau, Fort Dodge; father, Willard, Humboldt; sisters, Colette Lansing and Cindy Sturtz, both of Fort Dodge.

Calvin W. Dencklau was born in Fort Dodge and raised in the Vincent area, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1969. He attended Iowa Central Community College for two years. In 1971, he enlisted in the Navy and after his discharge in 1977 moved to Colorado where he was employed as the personnel clerk at the U. S. Bureau of Land Management. In 1985, he moved to Death Valley where he continued to work for the bureau.
