Dorothy G. (Porter) Wieberg of Oregon, Illinois went to her final resting place January 7, 2010 at K.S.B. Hospital in Dixon, IL. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 16th in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home (307 South 12th Street) and a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church (402 North 8th Street) with Rev. Dale Reiff officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Friday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, where there will be a vigil at 7 p.m. Arrangements were also assisted by Farrell-Holland Funeral Home in Oregon, IL.
Survivors include two daughters Doris Colleen Weindel of West Des Moines, IA and Rosetta Jane (Janie) Miller of Oregon, IL; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great- great-grandchild; sisters and brother, Florence Koester, Opal (Dale) Hudson, Gerald (Marilyn) Porter, all of Fort Dodge, Vonnie (John) Pollard of Marshalltown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; by her parents, Robert & Linnie Porter; two brothers, Melton and Delbert Porter; three sisters, Helen Jones, Grace Barkhaus, Rachal Scharf; and three grandchildren, Gregory, Tiffany and Andrew.
She was born August 17, 1921 to Robert & Linnie Porter. She was raised on a farm East of Fort Dodge. She attended Colfax Township School through 8th grade and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1940. On May 25, 1941 she married Andrew H. Wieberg at her parents home. In 1950 their marriage was blessed at Corpus Christ Catholic Church. They moved to 107 Avenue D in Fort Dodge in February of 1946 and lived there until June 1st, 1972 when they moved to their farm at Duncombe, Iowa. In June, 2001 they moved to Oregon, Illinois. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
