November 23, 1848 --- June 17, 1929

Sylvester Howard Overacker was born November 23, 1848 in Jackson County, Michigan, and passed away June 14, 1929, in Santa Ana, California. At twelve he, with his parents moved to Belmond, Iowa, where on a farm he grew to manhood. In 1872 he left his home for California, locating in Tulare county. He was married to Sarah Marie Oliver in 1892, and to this union was born one child. In 1897 the family moved to Orange county settling on a little ranch near Santa Ana, where he lived until his death. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, a son, Ray H. Overaker and family of Huntington Beach, besides other relatives and many friends. Funeral services, were held at Smith and Tuthill funeral parlor, June 17, conducted by the Rev. W. H. Bradley and Rev. H. P. Gray.
