Funeral Services were held Tuesday morning May 2, 1967 at the Methodist Church in Nashua for Rose Anne Cowley, 91, who died Saturday.

Rose Anne Ingraham was born May 26, 1876 near Dows in Wright County, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph G. and Sarah Tillman Ingraham who were early pioneers of Franklin and Wright Counties. She was educated in the early public schools and in the rigorous life of a pioneer home where there were two brothers and seven sisters. On March 22, 1896 she was married to Amos F. Cowley at the Wright County home of her parents and moved to a farm of her husband's cousin in Benton County near Mt. Auburn. In 1904 they moved back to the vicinity of Wright and Franklin Counties with their three young children Maude, Joseph E., and Ruby. Here Ruby and Joseph E. were married. The family lived on various farms until 1932 when they moved to a farm south of Nashua, Iowa. In 1939 they moved to town where they made their home with their daughter Maude.

The husband's death occurred in September, 1942. Also preceding Mrs. Cowley in death were her son, Joseph E. and a grandson Galen Jacobsen and all of her brothers and sisters. Mrs. Cowley's death occurred on April 29, 1967 at Hampton after an illness of three years. Surviving are her two daughters, Made of Nashua, and Ruby (Mrs. Harley Jacobsen) of Dows; seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Always a home loving person she devoted her life to her home and family. She was raised as a Methodist and since 1940 had been a member of the First Methodist Church of Nashua. Rev. Harvey A. Walker officiated. Music was furnished by Donna Head and Glendora Nicholson vocalists, and Nelda Shepard, Organist. The flower committee was Mrs. Glen Van Kleeck and Mr. Farrold Zimmerman. Casket bearers were Elmer Walker, Russell Walker, Venice Rathe, Myron Sheffler, Lloyd Sheffler, and Donald Roberts - all great nephews. Chenoweth Funeral Home was in charge with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery at Nashua.
