June 25, 1876 --- April 4, 1936

Eagle Grove, Ia. — Funeral services were held here today for Charles R. James, 60, prominent farmer of Troy township. James was born in Humboldt county, Iowa, and had lived in Wright county and vicinity all his life. With his three brothers, who survive him, James owned extensive lands in this area. Two sisters also survive.

Mr. and Mrs. John Winter and sons, Verle and Everett, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Krause, and Mr. and Mrs. Calla Tanck attended the funeral of Charles James at Eagle Grove on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. James had been ill with pneumonia about a week and passed away last Saturday evening. The deceased was an uncle of Mrs. Calla Tanck, and a nephew of Mrs. John Winter and Mrs. Hannah Notestine.
