Former Clarionite Dies in Minnesota

Mrs. Edith Evans, 79, of Winnebago, Minn, died at the Winnebago Hospital Monday night. Death was due to a stroke. She had been ill one week. Edith Sheplee was born Nov. 23, 1886 at Clarion, Iowa, and she married Elzie Evans at Clarion, who died in 1934. in 1942 she was graduated from nurses' training at Evanston, Ill. Coming to Winnebago, she was employed as a nurse at Winnebago Hospital and at the Baptist residence until she retired
and became a resident of the home in 1962. Survivors include two brothers, Kenneth of Huntley, and John of Gushing, Minn.; and three sisters, Mrs. M. W. King of California, Mrs. D. W. Woodin of Clarion, and Mrs. J. B. McNial of Burlington. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Thursday at the First Baptist church in Winnebago, where she was a member, the Rev. E. W. Brayton officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery at Winnebago, Minnesota.
