Harlan Hill dies at 78

Harlan M. Hill, 78, 809 Grand Park Drive, died at 5:25 p.m. Monday at Bloomfield Care Center, Bloomfield.

Brief services will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with the Rev. Harold Harriman officiating. Graveside services and burial will be in Eagle Grove.

Hill was born May 15, 1906 in Davis County, the son of Ellsworth T. and Bertha Miller Hill. In 1953 he married Betty Kluck Holm. She died in 1964. Two sisters and a brother also preceded him in death.

He farmed in the Eagle Grove area and in retirement lived near Eldon before moving to Fairfield. His hobby was gun collecting. Hill was a Methodist.

Survivors include a son, Phillip, West Palm Beach, Fa.; two sisters, Henritta Ensminger, Troy, and Dorothy Hutchings, Des Moines; a brother, Herbert, Bloomfield.
