She was baptized in the Immanuel Reformed Church near Belmond. Following graduation, she attended Central College in Pella and graduated with a teaching degree. She taught school in three different one room country schools in and around Pleasant Township. Later in life, after retirement, she was employed at Bloemke’s Pharmacy. Marge loved to bake and cook especially angel food cake. She hand wrote cookbooks for her family of her favorite recipes and wrote notes on which occasion they were made for. It took her a year to write one cookbook. She would often write poems for special occasions. She was organist for various churches for 50 years. Her love for the Lord and her faith was always seen and shared.
