Michael Lee Koob, age 66, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Michael served honorably and retired from both the United States Navy and the United States Army. He was honored with two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star for his service. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Linda Koob of Clarion; son, Jerry Goodwin of Clarion; loving mother, Betty Koob of Eagle Grove; brothers, Mark (Diane) Koob of New Haven, Ky., Brian Koob of Eagle Grove; Terry (Denise) Koob of Bradgate; sisters, Linda (Kent) Brooks of Clarion, Pamela Koob of Clarion, Debra Ruhnke of Clarion, and Penny (Denny) Eittreim; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Koob; one niece; two nephews; and both sets of grandparents.
