BELMOND — Ruby Leah Klinefelter, 89, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2013, at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond. Memorial services for Ruby L. Klinefelter will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, at the United Methodist Church in Belmond. Pastor Cindy Morrison will officiate. Burial will take place in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation for Ruby L. Klinefelter will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday April 28, at the Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane S., Belmond. Memorials may be made in Ruby L. Klinefelter's name to Hospice.

She was born Ruby Leah Wagoner in Liscomb, Iowa, on June 9, 1923, to Ella and Julius Wagoner. They moved to Belmond when she was 2 years old, where she grew up and raised her own family. She attended Belmond School. She joined her parents in operating Café & Bus Stop in 1945. Ruby then worked at Hokel's Café, Lynn's Lounge, PSI and Super America. Ruby married E. R. (Shorty) Klinefelter on April 19, 1949. They had three children: Michael, Roland and Toni. In 1973 they bought the Mello-Maid Café and enjoyed operating it until retiring in 1976. Ruby loved to fish, golf and play bingo and cards. She liked to cook, bake and make jams and jelly for friends and neighbors. She cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed participating in a local bowling league, playing with her poodles and attending Mike's football games.

Ruby is survived by one son, Michael (Marcia) of Shell Rock, and one daughter, Toni (Jeff) Anderson of Belmond; four grandchildren: Erika (Brad), Josh (Megan), Blair (Beau) and Shelley (Todd), seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Patty Blau; one brother, Lloyd Wagoner; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one infant son, three sisters, and three brothers. She will be dearly missed. Dugger Funeral Homes, 111 Luicks Lane S., Belmond IA.
