Graveside committal services will be held for Martha Johnson Clark, 82, who died at her home at Chino, California, on Monday, June 27. Services will be held Friday, July 1 at 11 a.m. at the Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, the Rev. Raymond Roden officiating. Foster's Funeral Home, Webster City, is in charge of arrangements, and no visitation is planned.
Martha Lucille Spanier, daughter of Fred and Ruth Mealio Spanier was born July 23, 1905 in Williams. She was educated at Blairsburg. She married John E, Johnson on August 25, 1923 at the Vernon Lutheran Church near Dows. The couple resided in Kewanee, Illinois for two years before moving to a farm north of Williams. They resided there for 18 years, then moved to a farm near Alta. The couple later moved to Cherokee, and following her husband's death on Jan 16, 1952, she moved back to Webster City where she resided for several years; later moving to Denver, Colorado and California.
She is survived by a daughter, Norma (Mrs. Melvin) Peddle, Chino, California; and a son, Everett Johnson, Swea City. She is also survived by four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a brother, William Spanier, Pocahontas. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
