WILLIAM ESHER SERVICES HELD

Services for William Esher, 86, were held at the Schellhammer Funeral Chapel in Mallard May 12 at 2 p.m. The Rev. James Wolfram officiated, burial was in Rush Lake Cemetery with Schellhammer's in charge. Esher, former long-time Mallard resident, died May 10 at the Old Soldier's Home in Marshalltown where he had lived for a number of years. William Esher was born Oct. 13, 1885 in Illinois. He resided in Corwith before moving to Mallard. He was a veteran of World War I and a 50-year member of the American Legion. While at Mallard he was employed at the elevator and with the telephone company. Mrs. Esher, the former Estelle Blochman, preceded him in death July 15, 1959. During the service Mrs. Raymond Reinhart sang "Be Still My Soul" and "The Lord Is My Shepherd," accompanied by Mrs. Eugene Hinrichs. Pallbearers were Charles Prochaska, Elmer Ernst, Basil Duffy, John Wagner, A. P. Ernst and William Teyen. Esher is survived by a brother in Wisconsin and a sister in Pennsylvania.
