Fred Harshbarger Succumbs After Short Illness

Riceville, Iowa - Fred Harshbarger, 84, died Friday at the Cedar Valley Hospital, Charles City, where he had been a patient one week. Survivors are his wife, the former Mattie Crittenden; a daughter, Mrs. Vern Eldwood, Riceville and a son, Alden, McIntire. Another daughter, Mrs. Irvin Winer, was killed in an auto accident near Riceville last fall. Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage. The Reverend Percy Bruns, of the Riceville First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery near McIntire.
