AUSTIN, MN -- The funeral for Allen F. Oxley will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin with the Rev. Joe Matt officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin. Mr. Oxley, 81, a retired Hormel Foods Corp. employee, died Monday evening (Dec. 9, 1996) at St. Mark's Lutheran Home in Austin. Born Jan. 23, 1915, in Corwith, Iowa, he moved with his parents to a farm near Waldorf, Iowa, as an infant. He had resided in Austin since 1929 and was a 1932 graduate of Austin High School. On June 6, 1936, he married Georgia Baley at the Methodist parsonage in Austin. Mr. Oxley was employed at Hormel for 42 years. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Darlene (Mrs. Frank) Van Alstine of Burnsville, Minn.; a son, Paul of Lakeville, Minn.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
