Dwayne Black, 53, of Fort Dodge, went to be a guardian angel in heaven on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Black and Nozey Habhab Jr. of Dakota City, Iowa; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jill Black of Fort Dodge; two wonderful grandchildren, Aaliyah Habhab of Dakota City and Chase Black of Fort Dodge; his mother, Delores Black of Fort Dodge; brothers, Joe (Dee) Black of Jackson, Minn. and Leonard Black of Florida; sister Cathy Edwards of Fort Dodge; and a niece and nephew. He is preceded in death by his father Wayne Black.

Dwayne Black was born Oct. 24, 1953, in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1972 and later attended Iowa Central Community College in the building maintenance program. Dwayne married Terry Hoover and they later divorced. On Sept. 22, 1984, he married Kathy Johnson in Corwith, Iowa. Dwayne worked at the Land O' Lakes Service Station in Fort Dodge. He also worked maintenance at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge and at the Holiday Haus Motel. Dwayne worked at Jerry Rabiner Memorial Boys Ranch as a night attendant retiring in early 2002 because of medical conditions. He enjoyed helping his dad with Blacks Small Engine Repair and later received the business from his father. Dwayne enjoyed being on a bowling league and his pride was his two grandchildren, they could do no wrong in grandpa's eyes.
