Mrs. Addy Finch Dies at Age 84
Rites Monday for Early Resident Here

Mrs. Addy E. Finch, 84, died Friday night at her home in Northwood. She had not been in good health for several years. Funeral rites were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. R. Roland Ritter officiating and the Conner funeral home in charge. Pallbearers were Floyd E. Ensign, Glenn O. Tenold, Richard H. Johnson, Silford Huso, Leslie Sanders and Ben B. Whitcomb. Mrs. Finch was the widow of Harry C. Finch, one of Iowa's best known life insurance men, and general agent for the Equitable Life of Iowa in Northwood for many years. Mr. Finch died Dec. 28, 1934. Surviving are two children, Clarence J. and William J., both of Midland, Texas, and a sister, Mrs. Grace Heiny, Lake Mills; also six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceding her in death besides her husband were two daughters, Margaret at age 14, and Ida in infancy; also a brother, Mervin, and a sister, Mrs. Esther Davis.

Mrs. Finch was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Farner Shaw, for many years residents of Northwood. Her father was a Civil war veteran. She was born March 12, 1873, in Corwith, Iowa, but moved here with her parents at an early age. In 1894 she was married to Mr. Finch, and had spent all of her adult years here. Coming for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. William J. Finch and son Hal and Clarence J. Finch from Midland. They expect to remain until Thursday.
