FINAL RITES FOR MRS. EMMA BLOOM, 79, HELD HERE WEDNESDAY
Mrs Henry Bloom Sr., passed away at her home on Monday morning after a lingering illness. Survivors are Henry Bloom of Renwick, Mrs. Winfield Sanborn, Cresco, Mrs Sanford Anderson of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Wayne Lucia and Mrs. Dale Witt of Storm Lake, Walter of Spencer and Mrs. Marvin Uhr of Duluth, Minn. Funeral services will be held in the Evangelical United Brethren church in Renwick with burial at LuVerne cemetery in LuVerne. The Rev. L. B. Mitchell and Rev. R. E. Kerney will be in charge of the services. Mrs. Bloom was 79 years of age in October.

Final rites for Mrs Emma Bloom, 79, were held Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1958, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Renwick with the Rev. L. B. Mitchell and the Rev. R. E. Kerney in charge. Burial was in the LuVerne cemetery at LuVerne, Iowa. Music was by a quartet composed of Mrs Rosamond Hefty, Mrs Anna Krause, Sherrill Oppedahl, Robert Oppedahl. They were accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Eddie L. Bygness. Pallbearers were Mrs. Eddie L. Bygness, Ed Anderson, George Mills, Walter Long, Dick Hefty and Bert Sankey.
Emma K. Bloom, daughter of Joachim and Anna Katheryn Klaessy was born Oct 5th, 1879 in Jordan Township, Green county, Wisconsin. She was baptized the 3rd of Dec. 1879. She came to Iowa with her parents as a child and lived on a farm five miles north of Renwick. Mrs. Bloom was confirmed in the Christian faith in 1902, on Palm Sunday in the German Reformed church near LuVerne. On Jan 18, 1898 she was united in marriage to Henry E. Bloom. This union was blessed with 7 children. In 1925 she joined the Evangelical church of Renwick, where she was a faithful member. She with her husband observed their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Jan. 18, 1848. Mrs. Bloom spent many years of her life caring for the sick, giving of herself to the care and comfort of others, and her greatest concern was for her family. About two years ago her health began to fail and in January of 1958 she became seriously ill and was taken to the Mercy hospital at Fort Dodge. Shortly after she was taken to Rochester, Minn. She returned to Renwick from Rochester on Feb. 8 and spent the remainder of her life in her home where she chose to be, and was confined to her bed most of the time.
Those who live to mourn her passing include her children: Sylvia Sanborn of Cresco, Alma Anderson of Cedar Falls, Wilma Witt of Storm Lake, Henry J. Bloom of Renwick, Ida Lucia of Storm Lake, Walter Bloom of Spencer, Grace Uhr of Duluth, Minnesota. Her sisters, Mrs. Vernia Phipps of Renwick and Mrs. Albert Kitley of Eagle Grove, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and other relatives and a hose of friends. Those who preceded her in death were her husband, her parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Klaessy and Don of Fort Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kitley of Eagle Grove, Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Hoesly of New Glarus, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kubly, Mrs. Sula Franz and Mr and Mrs Lester Smith of LuVerne, Mr and Mrs. Elmer Kubley, Corwith, Mr. Alvin Kelling and Mrs. Cindy Rhyner, Goldfield, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rorsberg of Thor.
