February 29, 1916 --- February 8, 1930

Robert Glenn McGowan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Will McGowan, was born February 19, 1916, Goldfield, Iowa, and died at his home, the place where he was born, February 8, 1930, at the age of 13 years, 11 months and 8 days. He was baptized in infancy into the United Presbyterian Church of Goldfield and two years ago he took these vows upon himself by uniting with the same church of which he was a faithful member. At the time of his death he was President and an Elder of the Junior Congregation and a regular attendant of the Sabbath School.

Bobby was a true and faithful member of the Boy Scout organization, living the twelve laws of a scout- trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent, preforming his duty to God and man. He attended school in Renwick until last fall when he resumed his school days in Goldfield, making friends with all that knew him young and old, in both communities.

He leaves to mourn his death, a loving father, a devoted mother, his own mother having preceded him in death at the times of his birth, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Southwick of Renwick, Mr. Jas. McGowan and Mrs. George W. Whyte of Goldfield. Rev. McCracken officiating,and was attended by many relatives and friends from Renwick.
